We want the festival to work for everyone who turns up. Below is what we have, honestly described — including the places where it is not good enough yet.
Getting around the site
The Main Square, the Culture Stage and the Family & Community Stage are on level paving and step-free throughout. The Street Stage sits on cobbles, which is passable but rough; the smoothest line in is from the east entrance. The riverside path down to the BBQ Plaza has a six per cent slope over forty metres.
Viewing platform
There is a raised platform at the Main Square Stage for wheelchair users and one companion each, reachable by ramp, with its own toilet beside it. No booking needed, but it holds twelve people — come a little early for the headline sets.
Toilets
One accessible toilet block at the Main Square and one at the Family Stage, both with a Euro-key lock and an attendant who can open them.
Hearing and sight
Sign language interpretation at the Opening Ceremony, the Community Choir and both ceremonies on Sunday. Other sets on request — write to us at least two weeks before. Assistance dogs are welcome everywhere, including inside the ticketed area; there is water for them at the info point.
Quiet space
A low-stimulus tent behind the Culture Stage, open the whole weekend: no music, soft light, seating and ear defenders to borrow.
Parking and arrival
Twelve accessible parking spaces at the west entrance, sixty metres from the square, held for blue badge holders. The shuttle buses from park and ride have low floors and ramps.
What is not sorted yet
The Electronic Corner is in a courtyard reachable only by three steps. We know. This year it is unchanged; a ramp is in the plan for next year. Anything else we have missed, please tell us — the info point writes it down and it goes on next year’s list.
Ask for support
Need sign language interpretation for a set, a companion pass or a place on the viewing platform? Tell us at least two weeks before the festival and we will arrange it.
