Half the programme is invited. The other half comes from the open call, and the Street Stage and the Family & Community Stage are curated almost entirely from it.
What we programme
Music of any kind, dance, spoken word, circus, puppetry, anything that works outdoors in front of people who did not buy a ticket to see you. Sets run forty-five to ninety minutes. We have five stages with very different characters — look at this year’s line-up and tell us which one you belong on.
What we pay
A fee for everyone, scaled by slot rather than by fame, plus travel and food. Nobody plays for exposure. The fees are modest and we say so up front.
What to send
Two links to live recordings — live, not studio. A line on what you do. Your technical requirements, honestly, including how long you need to set up. How many of you there are and where you are coming from.
When
The call opens in October and closes at the end of November. We listen to everything, which takes until February. Everybody hears back.
Three things that help: a recording where we can hear the room, a realistic tech rider, and telling us which stage you want and why.
Apply to play
Send us a link to your music or a video of a live set, plus your rider or a press photo if you have them — up to three files. Maria reads every application and answers within six weeks of the deadline.
