Oud, kamancheh, tabla and cello: the Silk Road Ensemble follow the old trade routes from the Mediterranean to Central Asia in one long, flowing evening set on the Culture Stage. Ancient melodies meet new arrangements, with long improvised passages in between.
It is one of the quieter highlights of the weekend — best enjoyed seated, close to the stage. The concert begins at 20:10, just after the Culture Stage changeover, and lasts around eighty minutes. Free entry; seating is first come, first served.
